UFCW 951 members at Meijer will receive the COVID-19 vaccine with no out-of-pocket cost  (regardless of where they receive the vaccine) and may also receive a $100 incentive upon providing documentation that they received the manufacturer-required doses for COVID-19 vaccination.

The steps for processing the vaccine incentive:
  • A one-time payment of $100 will be issued after a member provides documentation of immunization from an authorized healthcare provider or pharmacy (COVID-19 vaccination card). The incentive will be provided after the second dose for vaccinations that require two doses.
  • Payments will be administered by unit RAAs/SHRRs/AAs and requests will be submitted in Workday starting on 3/7/2021.
  • The one-time payments are taxed as supplemental income.
Meijer is aware that current CDC guidance recommends people who have experienced an immediate allergic reaction to their first COVID-19 vaccination and people who are allergic to PEG or polysorbate not get an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. Likewise, the CDC advises people who have had an immediate allergic reaction to a vaccine or injectable therapy for another disease to seek their doctor’s advice on getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

If a member provides medical substantiation that they have experienced an immediate allergic reaction to their first COVID-19 vaccination, has an allergy to PEG or polysorbate, or has been advised not to receive a vaccine by a physician due to previous allergic reactions to injections/vaccinations, the member may submit a disability accommodation request to ILM. If substantiated and approved, the member will be eligible for the vaccine incentive.

If a member’s religious beliefs prohibit vaccinations, the member may submit a religious accommodation request to ILM.  If substantiated and approved, the member will be eligible for the vaccine incentive.
