UFCW 951 Foundation

What is the UFCW 951 Foundation?

The UFCW 951 Foundation, established in 1996, is a member-driven program that provides assistance to members facing difficult times, along with scholarship programs that help with childcare, education, children’s extracurricular and community involvement, medical and utility bills and transportation and housing expenses. UFCW 951 is always looking for ways to expand the Foundation programs that benefit members.

Funded primarily through voluntary weekly paycheck deductions by the UFCW 951 membership, the Foundation is an integral part of the 951 community.

The UFCW 951 Foundation supports more than 100 workplace fundraisers annually to help members rebuild their lives after hardships. The Foundation matches 25% of the amount donated by members during these fundraisers. The combined total is given to the member in need. The Foundation consistently gives over $40,000 back to members annually.

Child Care Scholarship Winner
“The union benefits me and my family by protecting my rights at work, as well as outside of work, by offering the opportunity for financial reimbursement. My son just turned one, and we have been struggling to find an affordable and reliable daycare for him, so the childcare reimbursement will be so helpful!”

Housing Expense Reimbursement Winner
“Me and my fiancé have been members of UFCW 951 for many years. In those years we have truly felt the effects of being in a union. Higher wages, guaranteed time off, and extra benefits we’ve never had at other jobs. We are new homeowners, so this award is icing on the cake for our union experience. Winning this money helps free up money for renovations.”

$2,000 College Scholarship Winner
“I’m beyond grateful that UFCW 951 sees that family should always come first. My dreams and studies led me to an out-of-state college in Florida, and since now most of my time is spent in Florida, my mom can take time off and visit me during my school and sporting events.”
